Our training company offers a blended learning approach, also known as Express Learning or eLearning, which combines virtual learning with in-person skills training. This program has two parts: Part 1 is an American Heart Association online course, while Part 2 is a hands-on skills practice session with an authorized AHA instructor.

Part 1 involves students being emailed access to course work that is to be completed on the American Heart Association website. Students work at their own pace and can complete the course over several days if they choose. Once they have completed all the course work, they print the course completion certificate to give to their instructor for Part 2. This part should take about 2 hours to complete, but students can work on small sections at a time.

Part 2 is a hands-on skills practice session where students show in-person good compressions, breathing skills, and AED usage. These skills are performed for adult, child, and infant scenarios, with choking skills also practiced. Part 2 should take around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the type of class and the student’s experience.

At the end of both Part 1 and Part 2, the course is considered complete, and the student will receive the same card that is issued at the end of a regular 100% classroom training. The American Heart Association eLearning program certification is equivalent to a regular classroom training, ensuring that students receive the same level of education and certification.
