The Heartsaver CPR/AED course offered by the American Heart Association (AHA) aims to teach students the basic CPR techniques, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and relief of choking for all age groups. The course is open to anyone who wants to acquire the knowledge and skills taught at this level. In addition, instruction on recognizing life-threatening emergencies is also given. Upon demonstrating the required skills successfully, students will receive their Heartsaver CPR/AED course completion card, which remains valid for two years. The class duration typically ranges from 3 to 4 hours.
